Cape Town, 25 November 2011 – PetroSA, South Africa’s national oil company, was yesterday presented with the prize for organisation with the best Excellence in the Management of People at the highly-prestigious Technology Top 100 Awards.
The awards recognise excellence technological prowess in South Africa. The award bestowed on PetroSA celebrates the critical role played by people in enhancing the competitive advantage of the company’s they work for. In their 20th year since inception, the awards are highly sought and respected. Top companies with cutting-edge innovations enter every year.
Darrin Arendse, the PetroSA Vice-President for Human Capital, applauded the award and said it was just recognition for efforts recruit and retain some of the best highly skilled professionals in the world.
“Our organisation has some of the best skilled individuals you can ask for. In order to stay on top of our game we need these individuals to be in our employ. We also are very committed to developing these highly sought-after skills,” Mr Arendse said.
Last year PetroSA walked off with the Minister of Science and Technology Award for Overall Excellence.
